Child needs a slow motion showing how to use those utensils. Start with drying the table, then slice an egg, then cut a banana. Use the garter and peeler when your child can handle those firmly. Later cut a carrot. Watch your child, if you see they are too clumsy, do together and postpone an independent work. Use common sense. Children cut themselves more with knives that do not cut. This is an obtuse steak knife. Do not afraid to give a 3 year old something real. Just supervise. Can it be a gift?
